OUTREACH

With a name that focuses on hungering for theatre, Hunger & Thirst believes that we should focus our outreach on the members in our community in need, either those who hunger for basic food necessities or finding an organization that relates to the production we are producing.

For YOUR INVISIBLE CORSET,  we are pleased to announce that  we will be collecting donations at the end of every performance for NEW YORK BLOOD CENTER. We also will be offering $10.00 tickets to any patron who provides proof that he or she recently donated blood.

We also will bring back the special offer of discounted tickets in exchange for donations for our food drive! You are eligible to purchase tickets at a special $10.00 price provided that you bring a minimum of two food items (canned or dry goods preferred) with you! These tickets can be purchased in advance on our website, or are always available to purchase at the door with cash and your donation. If you decide to purchase your tickets online and happen to forget your donation, you will be charged an additional $10.00 at the door. We will be delivering these canned goods to The Bowery Mission. For more information about what kind of food supplies are preferred, please click here.

Past Outreach efforts include:
For PERICLES: BORN IN A TEMPEST, we passed the hat at each performance for Save the Children to assist with hurricane relief. We also offered half-price tickets to any patron who donated to our food drive. All donations went to the food bank at the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew.

For MESSENGER #1, we passed the hat at each performance for IndyKids. We also offered half-price tickets to any patron who donated to our food drive. All donations went to The Bowery Mission.

For DRACULA,  we passed the hat at each performance to collect for the New York Blood  Center.  Patrons also purchased half-price tickets at the door if they bring proof that they recently donated blood.

For THE ANIMAL KINGDOM, we collected donations for Animal Haven, a local animal shelter.

For CONTRAFACT OF FREEDOM, we passed the hat at the end of each New York performance for Feeding America.

For THE MISANTHROPE, all the proceeds for one of our performances were donated to Daisy's Food Pantry, hosted by The Church of the Village in conjunction with NYC Coalition Against Hunger.  We also hosted a pre-show discussion with volunteers from Church of the Village to raise awareness about food insecurity in Manhattan.

For IVANOV, patrons were able to purchase discounted tickets if they brought canned foods. We collected almost 200 pounds of food items for Daisy's Food Pantry, hosted by The Church of the Village in conjunction with NYC Coalition Against Hunger.
