Before there was Internet, before there were newspapers, before there were carrier pigeons, there were the messengers. Hunger & Thirst Theatre is proud to present Messenger #1, a new ancient Greek tragedy written by Mark Jackson, which transforms Aeschylus's Oresteia trilogy into an athletic and lean 90 minutes, focusing on the three messengers who serve theater's first dysfunctional royal family. As Agamemnon, Clytemnestra, Electra, and Orestes's heinous actions cause the world to spiral out of control, our messengers’ clear, passionate voices are the country’s only source of information, ​a powerful--and potentially dangerous--position to hold...

Messenger #1 is registered with the New York Innovative Theatre Awards. The IT Awards were organized to bring recognition to the great work being done in Off-Off-Broadway and help create a community base for the estimated 40,000 artists working in the Off-Off-Broadway venue.
