In a time of thanksgiving, gifts, and celebration, HTTC hopes to share in making merry the community we are so grateful to be a part of in NYC.
We have a mission of outreach and want to continually strive to make a difference in our community's food security needs, as well as partner with other organizations that offer hunger relief. One such organization that we have worked with, supported, and will continue to support is Hope for our Neighbors in Need, the food ministry of the Church of the Village located in the West Village of Manhattan.
Hope for our Neighbors in Need has two outlets: the Food Pantry and the Community Meal. On Tuesdays, Daisy's Food Pantry opens from 1pm - 3 pm. There, bags of groceries are distributed to individuals and families in need. The donations from the Ivanov food drive all went to Daisy's Food Pantry. On Saturdays, there is a community meal from 12pm – 1:30pm, serving hot food to whoever comes. Anyone is welcome.
Both programs require volunteers, and volunteering with HNN is a hugely rewarding experience. Volunteers at the food pantry help by packing bags of groceries for needy families and then distributing those bags at the pantry. At the community meal, volunteers help by setting up the dining area, preparing and cooking the meal, serving, and cleaning up. If you would like more information about volunteering for HNN, please contact the volunteer coordinator, Larry Thomas, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 201-648-5325.
or sign up to volunteer on www.cotv.volunteerhub.com.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to share some holiday spirit with our neighbors who need it? Please consider joining us during this time of year in our efforts to give time, resources, food and love to our amazing community.
